In 2010 Valucorp Training Academy opened its doors in Durban offering training for Basic Life Support & Advanced First Aid Procedures.
Many students have qualified since then and are now working in the medical field around the country. Others, are now training as Paramedics.
The training material has been developed by a team of dedicated
and committed Professional nurses and university academics.
All lectures are presented by a team of fully trained, highly skilled professionals in the various fields of expertise.
After completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of competence.
PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
(NQF Level 1, 5 Credits)
This unit standard is for persons required to assess the emergency situation and providing basic Life Support and basic First Aid in order to stabilise patients prior to transfer to the emergency services.
PEOPLE CREDITED WITH THIS UNIT STANDARD ARE ABLE TO:
- Demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management
- Demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology
- Assess an emergency situation
- Apply First Aid procedures to the life-threatening situation
- Treat common injuries
