Speaker/s
Louis Janse van Rensburg is the founder of Fresh Life Produce.
His interest in aquaponics began early in 2015 when a friend of his introduced him to an aquaponics farm with a basic system in Pretoria. He was hooked by the simplicity and practicality of the system and he devoted his time in researching different systems and travelling to every aquaponics enthusiast he could come across.
In February 2016 he registered Fresh Life Produce (Pty) Ltd and had the opportunity to build his first rooftop garden for Century City using the fundamentals of aquaponics he had learned through his ventures. Since then healthy, vibrant, organic vegetables have been growing in the new system helping to educate school groups on a daily basis about this wonderful technology.
He attended a perma-culture course in Port Elizabeth which consisted of living on the farm, attending lectures, helping build new grow bed areas and gaining extensive knowledge on innovative versions of growing vegetables. After the course he obtained a perma-culture facilitator and design certification from Hope Permaculture Farm.
He was selected by Investec to travel to Israel with 19 other young Agricultural entrepreneurs in 2017 as part of their En-novate project and at the end of 2017 while in a joint venture with Urban Organics he won Cape Talks Small Business Award

FRESH LIFE PRODUCE strives to show that there is an alternative to the thinking that we need to have a few large scale producers to feed households and entire cities.
We lead the way in showing that we all need to become our own mini-producers that work together and take the strain off our monthly vegetable bill. Aquaponics ans Hydroponics gives us that opportunity. Not only are we using 90% less water than any gravel system, but the products produced are also organic and grow at least three times faster than in a traditional system.
Join the movement and start by attending our Introduction to Aquaponics and Hydroponics Workshop. On the course you will find expert advice and as much information as you want as well as tips to show you step by step how to keep your system healthy. Then have a look at our two new home systems the Beast and the Bachelor, which with the help of grow lights can work wonderfully in your living room.
We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and change the way we all see food production. By working together, we can build a new future.
