The College SA ICB Financial Accounting Programme teaches you the skills you will need in order to have a career in bookkeeping and accounting.
Broken down into four easy-to-understand courses, this programme allows you to level up from a bookkeeper all the way to a financial accountant.

Outline

Foundation Level - National Certificate in Bookkeeping 

You will learn how to do monthly bookkeeping to trial balance, disclose profit and financial position, reconcile suppliers, inventory and bank statements. You will also learn to work with PAYE, UIF, SDL and other deductions, documents and VAT returns. This national certificate will allow you to apply for junior bookkeeper, accounts clerk, payroll clerk and reconciliation positions.

Entry Requirements: Grade 10 or equivalent. No prior accounting knowledge needed. You must be at least 16 years old


Intermediate Level - Further Education and Training Certificate in Bookkeeping
This course will equip you with the skills to manage the bookkeeping aspects of a business, which incorporates depreciable asset disposal, year-end adjustments, preparation and analysis of financial statements for sole proprietorships, partnerships, close corporations and companies. These skills will allow you to work in a senior bookkeeping, junior accountant, financial services officer, credit controller or business analyst position.

Upper Intermediate Level - National Diploma in Technical Financial Accounting
This course will prepare you to work as a financial manager, financial service manager, accounting technician and tax technician. You will learn how to complete a full set of accounts for a financial year and know the ins and outs of accounting, taxation (individuals and companies), auditing and business law.

Advanced Level - National Diploma in Financial Accounting
This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to open your own practice and/or work for big corporations. You will gain a thorough knowledge of accounting theory and practice, corporate strategy and IFRS, and be able to compile annual financial statements. You will be able to run your own accounting/bookkeeping business or apply for financial accountant, accounting officer, tax practitioner, tax consultant, management accountant or assistant manager positions.

College SA is a private, TVET-level college, providing quality distance learning courses. The College was established in 2007 and is registered and accredited by a number of regulatory bodies.
