IELTS Courses

Exam preparation courses are the right choice for:

• students who need to prove that they have a high level of English for work, study or emigration purposes;
• students who enjoy the challenge of a focussed course with clear goals;
• students who are at a strong intermediate level or above when they start their exam preparation course;
• students who are able to do one to two hours of homework a day to complement the course lessons.

Experienced teachers, small class sizes and personal attention to all students ensure the best possible preparation for the exam.

In the morning, you participate in the General English 20 Course (Monday to Friday). Alternatively, you can also participate in the General English 16 Course (Monday to Thursday). In the afternoons, you then have exclusively IELTS exam preparation (Monday to Thursday).

IELTS, The International English Language Testing System, is the most popular standardised test of English proficiency for non-native speakers.

The IELTS test and the preparation course help you use your English skills in an academic environment. The three-hour test assesses listening, reading, writing and speaking in four separate tests. The speaking test is face-to-face.

IELTS is increasingly widely recognised by universities and employers in English-speaking countries. It is also required for emigration to many English-speaking countries. You can choose to do the Academic English or the General English exam. 

There is an exam centre in Cape Town, running the exam once a month. We recommend registering well in advance as the tests are often fully booked.
