Ambidexterity is key to the future, what does it mean and how do you build it?

Leaders and their teams are increasingly faced with changing conditions otherwise known as the VUCA environment - volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. Ambidexterity is key to the future and this means greater problem solving, creativity, EQ (emotional intelligence) and AQ (agility quotient) skills are required to perform optimally and stay the course.
Dynamic Growth Training specializes in providing these relevant skills and tools to support leaders and teams in functioning with greater autonomy and certainty because at the end of the day, how you experience the external going on, it all starts with You.

1. Emotional Agility in the VUCA environment

• Understanding how thought impacts emotions and behaviour
• Understanding the process of thinking by using the Ladder of Inference
• Understanding our inner voices and the stories we tell ourselves
• Gaining metacognition skills to question habitual thinking and calm our negative
thought processes
• Identifying the base fears our stories energise
• Understanding the power of core beliefs on behaviour
• Developing skills to question and change beliefs

3. Personality and the state of Well-Being

Outcomes include:
• Understanding the formation of personality
• Identifying personal strengths and weaknesses
• Understanding our own and others personality type using the DISC model
• Tools to upgrade habits and patterns
• Understanding how to manage your well-being in the VUCA environment

4. Creating Psychological safety and building Trust

Outcomes include:
• Understanding why psychological safety is important in the VUCA environment
• Developing specific skill sets to create psychological safety for others
• Understanding practical ways to build trust in the VUCA environment

5. Vision, Values and Goals
Outcomes include:
• Developing a clear personal vision that aligns with your work place
• Identifying and understanding your personal values and the connection to your organisation’s values
• Learning how to develop a set of goals and making gestures towards personal vision.

Colin Thompson

My name is Colin Thompson and I am lead developer and facilitator of Dynamic Growth Training. Many years ago, I was practicing as a chartered accountant in corporate and whilst my skills were well developed around business, I realized I had to learn more about people which I do believe are the most important asset to any company. So, I began my journey of self-discovery, getting to know myself first and as I learned more about why I behave the way I did, I then began to have a deeper understanding about why others behave the way they do. Through my thirst for knowledge in psychology, neuroscience and philosophy I discovered incredible tools that could help me improve the quality of my life, and how to better influence others. Through this process I also discovered my passion and purpose – to share this knowledge with others so that they could also have access to what I had discovered. 

I joined Dynamic Growth training over a decade ago and together with our team, we developed a series of “Beyond Thinking” courses that would impart this knowledge to others, with practical tools that could be applied in both their professional and personal environments. We were one of the first training companies to bring advanced mindfulness exercises into corporate through our very unique coaching style approach.  Over time as we moved deeper into the 4th Industrial revolution, and we found that our courses, being ahead of their time in terms of content and outcomes, were highly applicable to the environment we now find ourselves in, filled with volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.  

For over a decade I have had to the honour to share this knowledge with many, and when I see the shine in their eye when they walk away, I am reminded of why I do what I do. I hope to see you in one of our virtual courses soon.

What We Do

Overall results include people becoming more purposeful and willing to stretch into their higher potential as they become more connected with their own development and how this relates to the bigger working system.
